Dear colleagues, ladies and gentlemen, dear friends,

it is my honor and pleasure to announce and invite you to the Annual Congress of the Croatian Society of Vascular Surgery, CroMA with international participation, which will be held from April 16th to April 18th 2020, again in Amadria Park Conference Park in Opatija, with the participation of vascular surgeons from Croatia and renowned guests from abroad.

Also, I would like to announce, taking into account the development of vascular surgery and vascular medicine, that our colleagues will cooperate with us on a daily basis in various fields of vascular medicine, and for the benefit of our patients: interventional radiologists, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, neurologists, clinical pharmacologists and phlebologists.

The professional part will cover the most interesting and the most current topics in vascular medicine, surgical and endovascular treatment of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms, hybrid procedures in vascular medicine, surgical and endovascular treatment of carotid arteries and peripheral arterial disease, medicamentous and endovascular treatment of venous thrombosis, endovenous vein treatment, and a modern multidisciplinary approach for the treatment of chronic wounds. We are also continuing a new area in vascular medicine – clinical nutrition, which is increasingly prominent in the treatment of various profiles of our patients.

Selected topics require a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment and collaboration of vascular surgeons, intervention radiologists, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, neurologists, dermatologists, clinical pharmacologists, general practitioners, and other specializations.

Of course, we continue to award prizes for the best presentations by young scientists to encourage them and encourage their further education in vascular medicine.

Numerous and extremely high quality presentations within the organization of the Symposium of the Croatian Society of Nurses and Vascular Surgery Technicians give special value to our expert meetings. Through its activities, the Society enriches and encourages the further education of all profiles of healthcare professionals in the care of our patients.

It is a special honor and pleasure to invite you to join us at this year Symposium of the Croatian Society of Nurses and Vascular Surgery Technicians which will be held in Opatija from September 10th to September 12th 2020. Professional topics will cover areas of endovascular surgery, venous insufficiency, health promotion and prevention of cardiovascular diseases and free topics.

Symposium is multidisciplinary, conceived as a bridge between professionals of various specialties who are scientifically or professionally engaged in prevention, detection, diagnosis and therapy in vascular surgery.

The work of the Symposium will take place through oral presentations, poster sessions and discussions, which will provide opportunities for all participants to share information related to new ideas and technologies and their application in everyday diagnostic and therapeutic practice. We hope that selecting topics from the field and actively participating will stimulate your interest.

Our desire is to take advantage of your stay and enjoy a good time during the Symposium, deepen your old and develop new friendships. We hope our Symposium will meet your expectations, because its success depends on your active participation.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR WRITING AND SUBMITTING ABSTRACTS

Participants who would like to present an oral or poster presentation should submit an abstract for consideration by the Scientific Committee. The abstracts should be submitted in Croatian and English. The Scientific Committee will determine whether the abstract will be accepted for an oral or poster presentation.

The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission to the Congress agency, and of all communications thereafter.

SUBMITTING ABSTRACTS

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRESENTATIONS

• presentations should be in Croatian or English
• computers onsite will be PC’s. Presentations should be in Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT), windows-based
environment. Macintosh users who want to submit presentations must export their presentation as a MS PowerPoint file
• PowerPoint format: A4 format or 4:3
• file format: Onsite organizers operating systems will include Microsoft Office 2018 and Windows 10. The following file formats are supported: .ppt or .pptx
• videos: Make sure that you compress the video. There are numerous different file formats and codecs, we recommend using .mp4 videos – H.264 video and AAC audio (MPEG-4 AVC). Other supported file formats are .mpg, .wmv and .avi
• projector format: The standard format of the projectors in the congress rooms will be 4:3
• speakers are kindly asked to prepare their presentations at least one hour before their lecture in the preparation area and give them to the Congress agency technician
• technical personnel will test-check the oral presentation(s) for compatibility and speakers will be given a final
opportunity for any last minute modifications
• speakers are kindly asked to give the technical personnel any special instructions they may have when in the
preparation room, not during the lecture

Posters

• posters can be written in Croatian and English
• poster dimensions: 80 cm (width) x 100 cm (height)
• elements: title, list of authors, poster text (introduction, elaboration, conclusion), literature
• recommendations:
– avoid shading, underlining, and mixing different types of letters
– avoid capital letters

Posters will be displayed on billboards in the exhibition area throughout the duration of the Congress. The authors must be present next to their posters during the poster viewing in time according to the program. Posters should be brought in person. Supplies for poster mounting will be provided by the Congress agency.

Best poster award

The jury will award the author of the best poster. The award is a weekend package for two persons at the Amadria Park Grand Hotel 4 Opatijska Cvijeta, Croatia during a before agreed period.

Oral or poster presentation is not possible if the registration fee is not paid (excluding invited speakers).

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

Terms of cancellation

• All cancellations of Congress registration, which must include your full bank account details, should be sent in writing to the Congress Agency BTravel Ltd. Cancellations received no later than August 10, 2020 will be refunded in full except VAT and administrative fee of 10% after the Congress.
• Cancellations received after August 10, 2020 will not be refunded.
